New Active Ethernet I/O Server Model Promises Greater Flexibility |
Aug 03, 2007
| Taipei, Taiwan, Aug 03, 2007—Moxa Technologies, a leading manufacturer of device networking products, has announced the release of the ioLogik E2212, a new Active Ethernet I/O server that provides 8 DI channels, 8 DO channels, and 4 configurable DI/DO channels. |
 |
The ioLogik E2212 serves as the flagship of Moxa's Active Ethernet I/O line, which recently received the Engineers' Choice Award from Control Engineering Magazine for innovative design. In addition to offering configurable input/output channels, the ioLogik E2212 also supports simultaneous use of NPN, PNP, and dry contact sensors. With the ioLogik E2212 , engineers are no longer forced to use separate products for different sensor configurations.
Instant event reporting via TCP, UDP, e-mail, and SNMP trap
In traditional Ethernet I/O architecture, network hosts must poll a passive I/O server to learn the status of the attached sensors. The repeated request-and-response communication over the network results in a slow response time. Clients who wish to improve the operational efficiency of their data acquisition systems cannot achieve a fast I/O response time or active I/O messaging with traditional Ethernet I/O solutions.
Active Ethernet I/O provides active status notification with customizable messaging and local output control. Instead of waiting for a network host to request information, the Active Ethernet I/O server automatically transmits a message when user-defined I/O conditions have been satisfied. No network or host resources are used as long as I/O conditions remain within the threshold. Compared to traditional solutions, network communication between the host computer and the Active Ethernet I/O server is far more concise and efficient.
Moxa's patented Click&Go™ logic control is used to configure the Active Ethernet I/O server's local intelligence. Click&Go intuitive "If-Then" structure makes it easy for users to specify which I/O conditions will trigger which events. Whereas C and PLC ladder logic require laborious programming, Click&Go™ allows configuration of your Active Ethernet I/O system to be completed quickly without formal training.
