ATEN Unveils First Dual-Rail LCD KVM Switch with Over-IP and Dual Bus Capability
ATEN International, leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of its first rackmount LCD KVM switches with built-in IP access. These new product additions bolster the company's already expanding line of premiere rackmount KVMs. The new KL9108/KL9116 Over-IP LCD KVM products, available in 8- and 16-port models with a 17" display, are part of the ALTUSEN line of enterprise-class KVM solutions from ATEN.
The KL9108/KL9116 units provide simultaneous access for one local and one remote user via IP to control up to 16 servers and support 32 concurrent users. With the message board feature, logged in users are able to communicate with each other and which allows a remote user to take exclusive control of the KVM functions. Through cascading, users can access up to 128 servers. The units were designed for medium to large server rooms and data centers at business facilities, educational environments and government facilities. These new products' built-in independent IP ports give administrators access to server racks and data centers from off-site locations via a web browser without conflict with local IT users-- eliminating unnecessary travel and associated costs.
The KL9108/KL9116 feature a multi-session visual capability that enables users to monitor up to 8 and 16 servers simultaneously on-screen to gain better visibility into server activities. For users who prefer to operate a mouse rather than the equipped touchpad, the KVM units offer an additional PS2 port to connect the peripheral. The local access port gives users access to the data center while inside the server room using local console. Similar to the KL1116, the KL9108 and KL9116 includes a "Dual-Rail" design that allows the console to slide back while the LCD panel remains in plain sight -- even with the server rack door closed -- to monitor and troubleshoot servers.
